From Memes to Media: The Story of Perridot Media

Media + Memes = a great tool to control the mind of the masses.

That one line has guided everything we’ve built. It sounds bold because it is bold and it’s exactly how Perridot Media went from a single person posting memes to a 15+ member digital marketing agency working with some of India’s biggest entertainment brands. This is the story of how that happened, told the way we’d tell it over chai, not the way it sounds in a pitch deck.

Where It Started

Every big agency has a small, unglamorous beginning, and ours is no different. Back in 2018, Perridot Media wasn’t an agency at all, it was one person, one meme page, and one simple mission: make people laugh through smart, culture-aware content. No funding, no office, no client roster, no “growth strategy” written on a whiteboard. Just a genuine understanding of what makes the internet tick, and the patience to build an audience one post at a time.

At the time, most of India’s meme pages were treating content like a numbers game, post more, post faster, hope something sticks. Perridot Media took a different route. Every post had to earn its place. If a meme wasn’t funny enough, relevant enough, or well-timed enough, it didn’t go up. That discipline, in an industry known for spray-and-pray content, is what slowly separated the page from the noise.

The Instinct That Changed Everything: Timing

What set that early page apart wasn’t just humour it was timing. Memes that landed exactly when a topic was trending, that spoke the internet’s language instead of translating brand-speak into it. Anyone can make a funny image. Very few people can predict, almost instinctively, which topic is about to explode online and get in front of it early.

That instinct, reading culture before it peaks, not after became the foundation of everything Perridot Media does today. It’s not a skill you can fully teach in a workshop. It comes from being genuinely embedded in internet culture: scrolling the same feeds as your audience, laughing at the same jokes, catching the same references before they go mainstream.

From a Meme Page to a Movement

As the page grew, something interesting happened: brands started noticing. They didn’t want ads anymore. They wanted to be part of the conversation the way memes already were fast, funny, and impossible to scroll past. Traditional advertising was starting to feel like background noise to a generation that had learned to mute banner ads and skip pre-rolls without a second thought. Memes, on the other hand, were something people actively sought out, saved, and shared with friends. That shift in demand is what turned a passion project into a business.

We started connecting with other meme pages, built a network instead of relying on one channel, and slowly the “one person” became a team. What began as informal collaborations with fellow meme-page owners evolved into a structured network one that could now move a message across hundreds of millions of followers within hours, not weeks. Today, Perridot Media operates with a 15+ member team spread across meme marketing, PR, influencer relations, content design, and web development but the DNA hasn’t changed. We still think like meme-page creators first, marketers second.

Building the Business Behind the Memes

Turning a meme page into a legitimate marketing agency required more than just a growing follower count. It meant building actual infrastructure processes for client onboarding, systems for tracking reach and engagement, a design team that could produce professional-grade creative at speed, and a PR network that could get brand stories placed in real news outlets, not just social feeds.

It also meant learning to balance two things that don’t always get along: the chaotic, fast-moving nature of internet trends, and the structured, accountable nature of client work. Brands need reporting, timelines, and measurable outcomes. The internet doesn’t care about any of that it moves at its own pace. Perridot Media’s real achievement isn’t just growing an audience; it’s learning to deliver structured, professional results using an inherently unstructured medium.

What We Do Today

Perridot Media now runs campaigns across meme marketing, PR publishing, influencer marketing, Twitter (X) trending, podcast marketing, account verification, graphics designing, and web development & SEO. We’ve worked on promotions for movies, shows, podcasts, and brands turning trending topics into measurable reach and real engagement, not just vanity numbers.

Campaigns like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Adipurush, Main Atal Hoon, and Hisab Barabar are proof of how far that original meme page has come each one leveraging organic, culture-first strategy to deliver reach in the tens of millions, often without relying purely on paid promotion or influencer collaborations.

The People Behind the Page

Perridot Media is co-founded by three people who each bring a different piece of the puzzle. One has been making memes since childhood and turned that hobby into a full-blown profession, now owning multiple meme pages with considerable followings while shaping PR and marketing strategy for brand clients. Another launched a content and PR career at just seventeen, and today handles much of the technical backend that keeps campaigns running smoothly. The third brings discipline and structure to the creative chaos, having built expertise in organic marketing and audience growth from the ground up.

That combination creative instinct, technical execution, and disciplined strategy is what allows Perridot Media to operate at the scale it does today.

Why the Story Matters

We tell this story often because it explains why we work the way we do. We’re not a traditional agency that studied marketing textbooks and then discovered memes. We grew up inside internet culture, and we bring brands into that world not the other way around. Every strategy we build starts with the same question we asked back in 2018: what would actually make someone stop scrolling?

Where We’re Headed

The mission hasn’t changed since day one, but the scale has. What started as one person entertaining a small audience is now a full-service agency helping brands, films, and public figures build genuine digital presence across India. As internet culture keeps evolving new platforms, new formats, new ways people consume content Perridot Media’s job is to stay exactly where we started: one step ahead of the trend, not one step behind it.

From memes to media, the mission has stayed the same: understand the audience better than anyone else, and give brands a reason to be part of the conversation, not just another interruption in it.
